Derek I just went through sometyhing like this on a TD6 an you may have the same problem. I've never been into an H so this may be way out in left field. Anyway the lower end of the shifter was well worn and sloppy in the shift rails. The shift rails were also worn and I also had a bolt in the shift lever. All added up to a locked shifter as the shift lever disengaged from all the shift rails. Bottom line is that I welded up the notch in the shift rail and reformed it and reshapped the shifter end so that it fit the rails better. Things are a lot better. I still need to rework the pivot bolt and bushings to tighten up the piviot point. lg no neat sig line
