Took the generator to the shop the other day...field was burned up and had to be replaced. The generator man said I could adjust the output by moving one brush either up or down. He showed me the screw to loosen, etc. Have any of you all ever done this? It's putting out only about 2 -- 3 amps even when the switch is on the high setting. Shouldn't it be a few amps more? Should the engine be running when I'm adjusting so that I can watch the meter, or should I move it a little while the engine is off, then fire it up and check the meter? Thanks.
