When changing the oil filter which should be done every 100 hrs or so, take the time to make sure the canister is properly seated in the groove where the rubber gasket is positioned; this can be tricky and result in a persistant leak if you don't get it right. There is always a danger of overtightening too. On top of the canister there should also be a copper sealing ring where the bolt goes through. Obviously, if you change the filter, you should change the oil. I assume this tractor has been using detergent oil. If not, there can be concerns with sludge. I assume the engine is clean and sludge free inside?
