Larry, not sure I follow you completely and that's fine. My only point was it seemed that if the only thing one suspected was ignition timing that was radically off, it seems so much easier to just locate TDC on #1 with compression and then route the rotor to the correct spark plug wire. If it then fires and runs, the valve issues including valve cover removal are just set aside. Cheers, RKS
