B Oil filter seal

I changed the oil filter in my B I just bought, this is my first tractor, so this is going to be a simple question. The filter came with a new seal, a flat thin round rubber seal. The groove in the cannister plate was v grooved and had to be cleaned out. My thinking is there must be a replacement v shaped seal becasue now I have a leak and can't seem to get it to stop. If the only seal is this thin flat one I need to try harder. I have looked at a lot of the Web parts people and don't see anything that sounds like this. Is this the only seal type? I am glad there is help like this available for the new guys. You may get tired of hearing from me before this thing is in top shape.
