Just an ad on, if the tank has alot of rust/scale build up, wash it like what was said, and use a large amount of washers or nuts, or even nails in the tank, swish it around hard. I use to do that with the old motorcycles I played with, and of course they suffered they same problem. I just did it to my tractor tank and it works very well for removing alot of that hard built up, and then I let it soak over night with a degreaser/carb cleaner solution. That has worked very well for me, and with the tractor tank you just need another body to help hold it and do the Hoola with it in the back yard ;0)
