Pee Jay, if I understand you correctly, the throttle lever won't hold a position. If you have the traditional Farmall throttle lever with the jagged tooth throttle cap, check your throttle lever itself and see it the small rise that fits into the cap indentations is badly worn. If you have an aftermarket friction throttle, you will need to tighten the nut.
