What tolerances are you referring to? If the engine has lots of oil pressure, obviously the mains and rod bearings are getting enough oil. The valve train isn't exactly high-precision stuff, either. An engine is an engine - car, tractor, etc. Tractor engines are understressed (low hp/cubic inch) and run cooler than car engines. Any current oil, multiweight or not, is vastly superior to what was originally put in those engines in the 40s and 50s. I'd like to know what is magically different about IH engines. (?) I'd rather not start a multiweight/straight-weight oil war, though. Steve
