NO! NO! NO! NEVER use a multi weight oil in any IH gasoline powered engine. IH engineered these engines to use ONLY STRIAGHT WEIGHT (30W in summer 10W in winter) OIL. The owners books refer to this, as do the current oil reccomendation from the OEM. These engines do not have the tolerences engineered in them for the use of multi weight oils. Multi weight oils will eventually ruin the engine. IH Gasoline engines preform their best with a low sulfated ash oil. LOW ASH oil sold by IH is what you should use for maximum protection.
