John, remove the governor plate and the spring and check the thruster and ball bearing unit. It should only slide horizontally. If the bearing cage can be wiggled from a straight vertical position, then that assembly is worn out. Ken Updike has those. 608-455-2411. If I recall its $65 give or take. You might also need to replace the spring.
