There is no timing chain-these are gear driven. I do believe it is either out of time or the spark plug wires are not hooked up correctly. The number one cylinder is the front one. The distributer cap should have a 1 marked on it. Hook that wire to no.1 plug then go in a clockwise direction and hook the wires up to #4,#3and then #2 cylinder spark plugs. If this dosen't help, get back to me.
