Changing a 6V tractor to 12V is patching the underlying problems that cause hard starting. Folks with little or no electrical knowledge replace battery cables with smaller gague ones designed for 12V and compound the problem. A properly setup and maintained 6V system will not only start and run the tractor reliably, it'll be original. A badly cobbled 12V conversion is worse than the original 6V system no matter how you look at it. Tractors from the 30's, 40's and 50's worked fine for years with 6V systems, there's really no need to change them, if you are willing to do a little detective work to cure their ills. Phil
