Ron, I don't think it's grease. It's seems more like oil. As for the center bolt, it's the 3/4 bolt that goes into the axle. I took it out and it holds a circular plate about the size of the bottom of an average coffe cup and a small pin that fits into a hole in the plate. With that off you can see what looks like a small gear? The fluids comes from the bottom of that gear?
