MJD, All IHC tractors with a 6 volt system were positive ground, as were most all other makes on 6 volts. All IHC tractors with a 12 volt system were negative ground as far as I know. Bob mentions that the 9 series were positive ground on 12 volt. Possable, but I think I remember the W9 & WR9 gas as 6 volt positive ground and the WD9 & WDR9 diesels as 12 volt negative ground. The only 12 volt system I remember that was positive ground was Packard automobiles. Harold H
