Mine did the same thing, started running rough & dying when used under load. I tried everything, I rebuilt the carb, the mag, got new wires, cap, rotor & plugs, cleaned the fuel system, etc. Each time I got on it and made a lap or two around the yard, it did the same thing.It turned out to be sticking valves when It warmed up. Have been using leads substiture since, & it does fine. I had to pull the head, & clean them up, they were snug with the head off, but when they got warm, they just stuck. Another clue I had believe this or not, was pressure building up in the gas tank! When I would hit a bump, fuel would spray straight up out of the vent hole for a foot, and it would pop when I took the cap off!...DDG.
