1468 Motor

I know it is not technically a vintage tractor, but have got on to a 1468 in about 100 pieces. Everything is there including 2 extra V8s. Question one, were these motors as bad as I've been told,and was it mainly the centre main that gave trouble.Two;Where were these motors made, I've always thought they were a German Neuss motor but I've been told they were made at Fort Wayne IHC works in USA.
