I beleive the DV-550 was made in either Indianapolis, or maybe chicago???? The engine its self is a good one. DO NOT EVER TURBOCHARGE a DV550, and they will last a long time. Sure its a sleeveless block and yes the main bearing caps are of poor design. However, IH built the V-8s to compete with the 1155 V-8 massey. That tractor didn't go far either. If a competitor was going to have a V-8 tractor, then IH D#@m well better have one too. The 1468 & 1568 are vintage tractors. Not many of them left are still farming. Overall they are a nice machine, especially if they still idle on 4 cylinders.
