Tim,
Generally the A-B-C and Supers of these models don't have serious head problems UNLESS they are overheated. Then they tend to crack across the combustion chamber of the center cylinders. Had a '49 C with that problem. Found a rebuildable head for $100, spent another $165 to have it rebuilt, problem solved. If your head is cracked, you'll find water in the cylinder(s) where the crack is. Good luck,
