Light switch wiring

I want to put lights back on my Super M to complete the re-wiring job I've started. I have had the switch box apart and cleaned all of the spiders and wasp nests out and cleaned up the terminals. While I was at it, I tested all of the contacts to find that all worked fine. I believe there are B and D settings on the switch which I took for Bright and Dim. In testing the terminals this seems to work right. However, I saw a post a while back where someone was talking about the switch being for high and low charge control for the generator/battery. The wiring diagram I got from the Case/IH dealer does not go into that level of detail on the light switch. Can someone clarify this for me?
