There were 23,522 Super MTA's made total. This makes ANY SMTA a fairly rare tractor. I would venture to guess that less than 1/2 of them would have been diesel, probably closer to 1/4. So let's say that 35% were diesels - that would be only around 8200 or so. I don't believe there were any records kept of which were diesels so we can't know for sure, but it is definitaly RARE! As for value, I have seen MTA gassers advertised for up to $8500 restored. I know of a couple for sale for $3500 with good TA's and one has a loader on it (average condition). So I would venture to guess that a diesel in average condition should be worth from $2500 to $4500. I give a large range because my definition of average and your definition of average could be that large of a range also. Do you have one for sale? Or are you looking to buy one?
