Generator restiter coil on an H

I recently acquired a 1950 "H" that still has the six volt battery, generator, and magneto set up. When I first looked at the tractor, I noticed that the amp gauge wasnt moving. The guy I got it from installed a new battery and cables (I double checked to make sure that it was positive ground). When I got it home I decided to see what needed to be done to get the charging system working again. I was about to remove the generator and have a look see when I remembered that, when ever the battery is un-hooked or replaced, the generator will need to be polorized. I tried that first and to my suprise, it started working (about 14 amps at hi idle and switch on high charge). When I switched it to low charge, the amp gauge would go back to zero. I pulled the switch box cover off and found that the generator resister coil wire was broken on the back of the switch. Now the kicker, where can I find a replacment generator resister coil? I have a piece of mica board and could most likely build one if I knew what type of wire that was used and where to get the wire, but would prefer to buy a new one and be done with it. Also while were on this subject, what about a replacement resister coil for the head lights as well? This tractor cranks over pretty good for a six volt system and I would prefer to leave it as is and not go to a 12 volt set up. Can any one help me out? Thanks for your time.
