Oil in Farmall Super C

The manual says SAE30, and I use SAE30, but this is not a new engine. the tractor runs good, but I was wondering, should I use a multi-weight 15-40 in the summer or stick with the 45 year old manual SAE30... Im inclined to stick with the manual, but I figured I would get some opinions on the matter..
