Thanks Steven,I have a buddy who's M is dated 49 according to the serial# but alot of his cast dates are actually late 48.All the cast dates on this tractor that I found were 53 but they were from Sept-Dec and so it might be a 54.I'm going to look for the block # as you suggested.I know what the old girl is I just wonder if there is a standard way for collectors to establish a serial # when the plate is missing or damaged.
