I have also heard this argument B4. Haveing an engineering degree in hydraulics and now I am a manuf. eng. My educated opinion is simple dont use synthetic in a new or rebuilt engine until 30,000 or so are on the engine, talking about a car or truck then switch over to synthetic but also use the engine flush b4 putting the synthetic in the engine. Personally Who cares if your 65 year old tractor does not get peak performance, are you really concerned about gas milage, and as for the cold weather startups the damage in a cold start up is there but I would think that if the tractor has lasted 65 years who cares.
