From my over 20 yrs of working on these if they are missing after they warm up and run fine when cold the problem is one of 2 things, either the coil is failing(They break down after they get hot if they're bad) or a cracked head or block where water is getting to the cylinder, when the engine is cold the crack is tight and dosen't leak, but as it heats up the crack opens up and lets water in. The leaking carb. is a stuck float-take apart and clean it and the fuel bowl under the gas tank.
