45 years and a couple weeks. Grew up on my dad's farm in northern ND with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. None of us stayed on the farm mostly because there was no money in it. I bought 5 acres in the Cascade foothills of western Washington about 13 years ago and decided I needed a tractor. Wasn't quite sure why I needed a tractor, I just needed one. Bought a '41 Farmall B, since then have acquired a '55 300U and last year a '45 A. On the farm we had a W-4, a M, a 400D and a 660D. Later on sold the 660D for a 806D, then sold that and got a JD 4430. Liked 'em all except the 806, that sucker had an aftermarket cab that hadda be designed by the devil hisself. It was dirty, noisy, hot, noisy, and loud. On the other hand, the 400D with wide front was always fun to operate, sittin' out in the sunshine with the breeze blowing over you. Sure ya get dirty, but it's a nice kinda dirty.
