Well I am almost 53. I have my Grandpa's 49 cub. It is a childhood memory of Grandpa, running a 50 acre farm in Oregon with the cub. He kept berries, orchard and alfalfa with it. When I was in the Army, 1970, Grandpa had it rebuilt, $350. Grandpa passed on in 1979 and the cub just sat in the barn. In mid 80's my brother got the farm, and used the cub for about 2 years. The cub got to be too small to use so it just sat in the barn again. In 1998 I went out to Oregon from Missouri and picked up the tractor, implements and all. It now runs on a 20 acre Arabian horse farm. It gives me a connection to Grandpa. I used to be a mechanic, so fixing it is a real pleasure. I plan on completely rebuilding it this year or next. I doubt that it has been apart since 1970. It runs like a fine swiss watch. I just love to mow the pasture with it. Like to hear that open pipe talk.
