I have a 400, but I'm sure that the 350 and 400 lifts have the same setup. Looking at your fast-hitch from the rear, the cylinder that raises the lift is on your left. When the cylinder is extended to raise the lift, it raises the rocker arm which in turn raises the lift link which in turn raises your lift. The rocker arm is connected to the lift link by a sliding collar (the book calls it an "eye bolt"). This collar is what raises the lift link. There is a hole through the collar and a matching hole in the lift link. These holes are aligned when the collar is at the top of the lift link. Since your lift has positive lowering action, you now have a bolt or pin fastening the collar and lift link together. If you remove the bolt or pin, your lift will float but you can still raise it. Hope this helps.
