From what I've seen on this, I don't think it necessary to split the tractor. You'll have to spend some time under it though. Once you get the lift all out, should be able to fix it in a half day or less. ReDrev says it has a new clutch, so I think it's something in the clutch fork area. In that case, the clutch does not have to come out. One suggested the clutch plate might be in backwards, in which case the clutch would have to be removed.
