Go to www.google.com and do a search on PTO GENERATOR and you will find everything in the world on pto gererators. I saw one that was on a trailer that hooked to your drawbar and pto shaft so you could take it where you need it. I like that idea. Some are stationary and some hook up to you 3 point hitch. My brother-in-law lives in the country and like you, he said when the power goes out its out for a day or 3. He had a 5000watt generator wired up to his house. It runs pretty much everything except centeral AC. Mostly fridge, freezer and a few lights. You'd probably need 10k or 12k watt for central AC. You will find that the portable generators cost less that a pto driven unit. You'd think they would be less since you're providing the engine.
