PTO drive generator?

Has anyone had any experience with a PTO driven generator? I'd like to see if I could use one for my house in case of power outages. I live in a relatively remote, rural area and when my power goes out due to a storm or whatever, it's out for 2-3 days at a time. I've used a small Honda one for the refrigerator and freezer but I'd like to be able to hook the house up. I know you need a switch to prevent the juice from going back into the lines and that but I'm curious about the possibility of this type of application. Any ideas of what they cost? Dependability? Brands to look for or watch out for? Any input is appreciated.
