Very interesting....I just put my Super C back together and it had the same thing...bolts holding a plate on the right axle and a snap ring on the left. Someone had tapped a very large hole in the center of the left axle and had a homemade plate on it. I'm sure this was due to the right axle gear having come off at one time.:) I thought maybe my left axle was from a different tractor but maybe that is how some were built.
