Haas: Is there a factor on tractor tire sizes on profile such as the case in car and truck tires. In 1972 I purchased a used 656D with 15.5 x 38 rear tires. The drawbar of that tractor was always too low, be it in mud, straddling hay windrows, etc. I was in potato country and saw 656s with a size smaller tire. (I think 14.6) These tractors actually had better drawbar clearence than mine. The tires were definately higher profile than my 15.5 were. When time came to replace tires I put on 16.9 x 38. That made a big difference in tractor performance and clearence. I am thinking the tires I saw in potato country, must have been a special order for row crop work. Any comment.
