About a month ago I bought an A farmall off of Ebay. The previous owner had overhauled the engine and replaced the clutch and several other things on the tractor. It finally was delivered and after it was paid for the previous owner says... "There is one thing though the clutch is a bit noisy once in a while... while it is ingauging." I thought to myself... what timing. After using the tractor for a bit the clutch doesn't slip and seems to work fine except once in a while it makes a vibrating growning noice when it ingauges. Do you have any ideas of what it could be? It seems to be more pronouced in reverse. I guess lesson to be learned about buying a tractor off of ebay. I even called him and asked what he thought about the tractor and what needed to be fixed. I don't think that he was truthful about some of the other things that I had asked him about the tractor. I will never buy a piece of equipment again unless I can kick the tires and look it over. The tractor isn't a pile of junk but I have to fix some things on it that I wasn't planning to. What do you suppose is making that noise? Thanks... for your response.
