I agree with almost all of your points. YTmag is an excellent site and bar none the BEST for information that I have found in 2 years of surfing the 'net. The free classifieds and auction are a true blessing to those of us who don't have local people interested in our tractors and equipment. I would rate this site in the top 1% of all the professional websites that I have visited. I disagree, however, on making any of the forums "members only" - Do you think that some of the people who work hard all day fixing tractors as professionals would pay to give away free advice? I don't think so. I think we should all donate what we can and keep this site free and open to the public so that the antique iron hobby can survive through future generations. I just did. Steven

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
