Mr.J, Removing bolts that look impossible is one of the joys of working on an old Farmall. On today’s machinery it can be a nightmare to remove a bolt on a two-year-old piece of equipment. I was always told that the copper content of those old bolts was higher and helped keep them from seizing. I have never had a problem with an original bolt on my 49 H. On a bolt with a nut (as opposed to one threaded into a hole) cleaning the treads with a wire brush and a little penetrating oil seems sufficient. When you run into a bolt that has been replaced in the last 30 or 40 years it can be a totally different story. There have been many post about removing broken bolts or studs. There are many creative methods and many destructive ones. Use caution and patience when it looks like you may be over your head. These machines have been around for 63 years so there is nothing someone else hasn't had to figure out already. I am glad to have my H, but have always wanted an M or Super M. The people on this site can be a great asset to you. Best wishes with your M. JWC
