Use D16 for full throttle use in heavy work, D21 for part load or low speed light work idling, D--Y is a projected core nose plug never intended for use in a M. I worked at a IH dealer from 1960 when these tractors were used hot & heavy in hard tillage, this is what lasted the best, you must match heat range & type to use. D15Y was recommended only in hard use with high octane fuel.
