Hi Dick - A couple possibilities - The coil might be overheating. If the PO 12 volted the tractor, re-used the existing 6 volt coil, and did NOT install a ballast resistor, the coil will draw too much current. The excess current will overheat the coil and can cause it to fail - it's also not good for the breaker points either. Try running the tractor again until it quits. Immediately pull of a plug wire, crank the motor and test for spark. If very weak or no spark, you found the problem. To correct, either install a ballast resistor in the coil primary or simply swap in a "12 volt" coil. The other possibility is there's a fuel flow restriction. Try removing the drain plug at the bottom of the carb. You should get a continuous solid flow of gas (not dripping). If not there's a restriction somewhere between the sediment bulb inlet at the bottom of the tank and the carb bowl, or the gas cap air vent is plugged. Good luck!! ...Bob M
