According to my International Harvester Data Book the Gas Super M/TA had a PTO HP of 48.77 with a C264 CID engine, The 400 gas with 264 CID had 51 HP, The 450 with a 281 CID had 55.28. Now to get the small additional HP IH would up the compression maybe one point, maybe a little larger jet in the carb. From the Super M to the 450 the blocks were the same. Anyway I have a 450 with the C281 and a Super M that I have put 4 & 1/8 firecreater piston in. The Super M will actually out work the 450. The only advantage the 450 has over the Super M is the hydraulics, The fast hitch and the TA. I love that Fast Hitch. I'm going to engineer some way to put that fast hitch on my Super M. Unless you have a late model Super M with live Hydraulics your even further away from the 400/450s advantage. The sheet metal and the hydraulics are the only difference in the Super MTA and the 400.

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
