I've pondered the same mfwd question myself.The old Colemans and Elwoods don't turn as sharp as the new ones do.I think most of the new ones are center drive.It would be hard to connect to the transfer case on the side.Maybe two or three u-joints to get shaft down there.If you could accomplish that and get the gear ratios right I think it would make a neat unit.
