It may be easier to loosen the axle carrier where it attaches to the rear end keeping the axle and bearings all lined up. Should be able to inch it out far enough to get the bull gear free of the splines on the axle and down/out of the pinion. It's so much easier now that you have the deck off. Just make sure you support the tractor and the axle carrier securely. Things back there are heavy.//FB
