Thanks for all the input guys! I just came in from shop,and the valves are un-stuck now. I pulled the rocker shafts and with a bit of conservitave tapping they snapped right shut.So I dosed em up with more PB Blaster {great stuff} to soak some more.I see a problem right away though. One broken spring and two more that look stacked or out of shape somehow.Valves did seat so next move is to inject air into each cylinder and see if they leak.I know about tapping on end of stem to dislodge a piece of crud or carbon that got on the seat.So if I get really lucky again and there is no great amounts of air whistling through this thing I will need some new springs.Probably ought to borrow a spring tester and check even the good looking ones.Could just put a whole new set and not worry about it.Have ordered a service man. but its not here yet.Haven't done any research yet-where would be a good place to get new or even good-used springs? IHC dealer,local NAPA,or get in touch with one of the parts suppliers listed on this site? The bad springs explain why my Uncle told me that the last time he had it running,it was limping and down on power.
