Though this problem is not on aIH tractor it is on a descendant and I have recieved much help on this forum so here goes. Son got our CIH 9230 out of shed to day. Started fine. Backed up to field cultivator outside and shut tractor off to hook up. When he got back on tractor it wouldn't turn over. He cleaned all battery connections, checked safety switch, and cleaned battery cable lead at starter with no luck. All other electrical works on tractor, including electronic shutoff at injector pump. I'm sure it is in the starter as you can here bendix turn slowly but not engage. My question is, has anyone ever had one go out this quick? My past experience is that they will start acting up before actually going out. By the way, he had been doing some tack welding , making weight brackets, last week. But he had disconnected ground cable from the batteries while doing so. Also tractor had been started several times since then. with no problems Just wandering boog
