I went through this this past summer as I needed more speed to run a baler. There are limits to what you can expect for extra rpm's; no doubt the Red's tips will help you out. H works at 1815 @ high idle and will turn 540 rpm at about 1650 rpm. The governor is fairly easy to adjust if there is not too much wear. I found if I tried to adjust "outside" the normal levels, the linkages started to bind up. I don't think there is any point at all to go beyond the rpm's range than what the tractor was designed for ... for every day use. The other linkage to check is the block up over the valve cover. There is an adjustment here which gives the governor feed lever a little more movement. Good Luck!
