Sounds to me like the wires are on wrong. To figure rotation, bump the starter with the cap off. Make sure it is wired in the right direction. Then, if it still won't start, move all the wires one terminal in either direction. Try to start it. Repeat until it works. I did this on a Case (hey, it had an IH distributor!!) and it worked for me. Good luck, Fireman
