Well - third time must be a charm - darn aol keeps kicking me off when I get the message almost done, so I'll keep this one short! I have a 53 super C that I just can't get to run. It all started when the calves ate the wires off - Dad put new ones on. Ran, but no power. Carb had been leaking, so rebuilt carb. But could only get the needle seat and float, as the Carter carb is too old for a complete kit. Now it ran, but missed. Checked wires, and found them in wrong order - fixed them, 1-3-4-2, but now it won't run!! Cleaned all the connections, replaced the old distributor cap, points, rotor, coil and condenser. Still won't run! It turns over easily, but will not catch. There is spark, and gas gets to the carb. Gas drips out when sitting, and pours out when cranking the engine. Possibly the needle/float is still sticking - I'll get it off again and look at it! I did as the manual says, and checking all the distributor timing etc., and it was okay. I could get it to backfire while rotating the distributor, but not really firing. there is spark. Could not find the timing marks on the flywheel -- anyone have a suggestion on how to make them readily visible?? There is something obvious I am missing, but at this point I would appreciate your insights. Thanks! Don(PA)

That was 10 years before I was born, so I grew up thinking that 8N was the world's best tractor. Grandpa had greenhouses, with over half an acre under glass, and that 8N did almost everything. It was the only
