Explain where the crack is in a little more detail, please. If its in the transmission/rear end housing & doesn't leak grease, its probaly not too much of a worry. We used one for years w/a crack in the transmission housing. We drilled & tapped so we could put on a sheet metal patch & gasket to cover it-just to keep the dirt & water out. (Bought it from a dealer for cheep cracked-don't know how the previous owner cracked it.) If its in the "torque tube" (ie the casting that connects the engine to the rear housing) you could have a problem, as H's have been known to break in half there. (Not uncommon w/loaders on 'em-I've even seen an M busted there.) Thats the bad news-the good news is the torque tube is probably available @ tractor salvage yards, but will be PIA to install-ya gotta split it. Ifna its in the block, you got other problems to stay away from. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
