Hugh - I had a similar experience with my Super H (stock 6 volt system) last winter. It was being run by buddy of my son's who knows only hand-start 2 cylinder Deere tractors. He used his usual method to shut it down at the end of the day: Stick it in high gear and dump the clutch. He never thought to push in the ign switch. Went to use the tractor the next weekend the switch was still out, and the battery was dead flat and frozen solid. Wound up having to purchase a new 6 volt battery (grrrrr......)
