Greetings? I was given catalyzed two part epoxy primer and paint. The paint is listed as being equivalent to IH #50. The sample color card seems a deeper red than what I see in Guy Fay's Letter Series Tractor book. I also found a Benjamin Moore color card that lists an IH #23 red that is more like the paint I have than what I see on other Farmalls. I am working on a 1940 Farmall A. Before I put this deep red on the tractor, I want to know why such a difference in red? Should I use this darker red or should I look for a red that is more like what I see in books? I read in Mr. Fay's book that the red color did get lighter in the mid 40's. Does that mean my darker red might be more appropriate for my 1940 A? All thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Douglas Stockman
