I was told that I could use the lift-all pump with an aftermarket 3-point hitch, if I make sure the cylinder size is correct. No one ever told me what size cylinder to use. Also, I believe the lift-all pump only lifts. I may be wrong, but I think the implement weight provided the downforce. This is something to consider if you plan on drilling post-holes or something where downforce might be required. Aftermarket 3-point hitches can provide downforce, provided double-acting cylinders are used, and provided the right hyrdraulic controls are provided. This is actually an advantage over many early tractors that originally came with 3-point hitches. If you do go with a 3-point hitch with double-acting cylinders, be VERY careful with the downforce. You could lift the rear of the tractor, making things VERY unstable. Safety first!!
